Other names for receptive language disorder include central auditory processing disorder and comprehension deficit. In most cases children also have an expressive language disorder, which means they have trouble using spoken language. Hearing tests are required to make sure the problems aren't caused by hearing loss. Treatment options include speech–language therapy.
